Principal Medical Writer

Job Description

We are a Life Science Recruitment Company recruiting on behalf of a client who is a Medical Communication Company. We are seeking an experienced Principal Medical Writer to join their team in Manchester. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with some of the industry's leading experts, develop their skills and knowledge, and play a key role in delivering high-quality scientific communications.

Location: Manchester

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000

Key Duties:

  • Leading the development and delivery of high-quality scientific content across a range of therapy areas and formats, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and slide decks.

  • Providing scientific expertise and strategic guidance to clients and colleagues.

  • Mentoring and training junior team members, ensuring the delivery of projects to the highest standard.

  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including key opinion leaders, medical writers, and project managers, to ensure effective communication and timely delivery of projects.

  • Staying up-to-date with the latest scientific developments and trends, and sharing knowledge with the wider team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • PhD in life sciences or a related field.

  • 5+ years' experience in a medical writing role, preferably in a medical communications agency.

  • Strong scientific writing skills, with a track record of delivering high-quality scientific content.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

  • Experience in mentoring and training junior team members.

  • Knowledge of industry guidelines and regulations, including Good Publication Practice and the ABPI Code of Practice.
